Music Marketing Blog Post #2

To be honest I feel like this project was made really well. We all did our fair share of work and I'm glad with how it came out. The only thing I am not that happy about is how we executed the presentation. One of our group members did not speak so we had to adapt and read her slides. I felt like I choked up on my slides even though I created the majority of the Power Point. I have this fear of public speaking that even though I know the information I just find myself repeating the same things over and over again. I also have that fear of cutting people off. Well I wouldn't say fear but for example when somebody asked a question and my group member and her kind of got into a little argument, I wanted to intervene and say like, "Well when we did the research we saw that the target audience for the majority of country music artist is teens to young adults." But I just couldn't bring myself to say that because I was just scared to. But besides our presentation I am really happy with how it came out.

The process of making this was fairly easy. We created a schedule and we stuck with it. We finished the charts on time, the storyboard on time, and the music video on time. We did everything how we were supposed to. I juts think we lacked in that sense of communicating our ideas. For the music video, we filmed at Markham Park and at the Indian Trace plaza. Honestly filming was pretty funny. We laughed and made jokes while recording and making the video. It was a good group bonding time, but one of our group members couldn't participate because she had to work. But besides that it was great.

My main job in this project was doing the research and creating the Power Point. As I said, I knew all the information that was on the Power Point because I researched it all, but it was just that when I got up there I felt like I couldn't talk and I just went blank. I think it was a good learning lesson though because now I know I have to rehearse before presenting. I never rehearsed it because I just knew the information on the slides.

Our group was very good at doing things but not so much at communicating. In the class time Ms. Stoklosa gave us we all just sat in silence and did the parts we were assigned to do, which now thinking back on it, could've been way better if we had just talked to each other. We all split up the work equally I think, Panayotti and I did all of the research and the Power Point. We also filmed the music video. While Fabiana and Alejandra did the story board. Fabianna also filmed and she did the editing. We were all supposed to edit but Fabiana said she would rather do it on her own.

I wouldn't change much about this project. The only thing I would change is that I wish we could've communicated more and I wish I had rehearsed the presentation. I feel like if those things were to change, the overall project would've been 100 times better. This definitely will help me with my portfolio project. It taught me how to time manage and that a schedule is very important. It taught me that filming takes multiple tries and that editing is not for the weak.
